How to contribute to our vision

We are currently looking for a Global Equipment Developer for lifting and handling equipment to join our team in Hull.

In this role you will be part of global Blades Manufacturing Support Tooling team, with the mission of defining, validating, and implementing the more competitive lifting and handling machinery for the blade's factories of the group across the globe (Portugal, Denmark, UK, France, USA, China, India…). Some examples of this machinery are: gantries, lifting yokes, internal transportation tools and turning equipment.

These tasks have to be done within the framework defined by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) and the particular procedures and rules established by the global tooling department (L&H group): Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) rules, Global Tooling procedure, Lifting standards, Cost and Quality standards, Sourcing strategies, etc.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  1. To define and create the specifications (PRS) of the needed tools and machinery for the blade manufacturing process
  2. To follow up the procurement process, commissioning, and validation (FAT, SAT) of the equipment
  3. To hand over (TOC) the equipment to the blade manufacturing plant and support the plant afterwards
  4. To follow up the installation of new machinery in the factory following the SGRE global standards

What You Need To Make a Difference

We are looking for…

  1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Electro mechanical etc)
  2. Previous experience in industrial maintenance, industrial manufacturing or renewable energy
  3. Previous experience in Lifting and Handling equipment especially Transportation and Turning equipment for heavy components
  4. You are a team-oriented person, securing all deliverables to the highest quality standard
  5. Structured mindset, with specific attention to details
  6. Capable of propelling technical projects across departments and cultures, and meeting deadlines
  7. Capable of solving problems by using relevant methods and tools with a "hands-on" approach
  8. Risk assessment by using relevant FMEA tools
  9. Ability to work with complex solution covering tools, processes, and materials
  10. Knowledge on EN13155, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC & other global standards
  11. Industrialization and project management experience
  12. Ability to work successfully with a team daily in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
