Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 + Bonus and Excellent Package
We are partnering with a globally recognised life sciences company undergoing a major procurement transformation. With a technology spend exceeding $80M, they are looking for a strategic procurement leader to take full ownership of their IT category – driving value, negotiating complex global contracts and shaping supplier relationships at the highest level. This is a high-impact role, working closely with senior stakeholders to influence and execute a best-in-class technology procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Leadership: Own the full lifecycle of IT procurement categories, driving strategy, supplier selection, and total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements for strategic suppliers (SAP and Microsoft etc)
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, from complex negotiations to robust Supplier Relationship Management – ensuring quality of service for stakeholders and identifying innovative savings opportunities
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT leaders (VP and CIO) to align procurement strategy with overall business objectives and ensure value add for the tech function
- Spend Management: Oversee all spend areas within IT, ensuring cost-effectiveness and continuous improvement in procurement processes
Key Requirements:
- Proven expertise in IT procurement, ideally with strong experience in the software category
- Demonstrable experience managing significant spend portfolios (approximately $80M) and delivering tangible cost savings
- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of handling complex deals
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with experience engaging and influencing senior leaders
- In-depth understanding of cost modelling principles and category management best practices
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proactive approach to procurement – execution and delivery is key in this fast paced role
