Job Description:

Global Business Development Director – Permanent – Multiple Locations – Exceptional salary

A new and exciting role has opened up to work with one of the world's leading ship registries as Global Business Development Director.

Reporting to the Managing Director & CEO, this role can be based in either London, Hong Kong, Japan, Greece or United States (New York or Miami). The role will involve a lot of travel and sometimes at short notice.

The Global Business Development Director will lead the strategic direction of the company's business development, focusing on growth and market expansion across international markets.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Lead the formulation of a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company's vision and market positioning. This includes identifying priority markets, service offerings, and strategic partnerships.
  2. Conduct detailed assessments of new market opportunities, including competitor analysis, market trends, and potential barriers to entry.
  3. Develop and nurture strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and decision-makers. Implement strategies for regular engagement to foster long-term partnerships.
  4. Act as a representative of the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Deliver presentations that highlight the company’s expertise and solutions.
  5. Lead and coach regional directors and marketing team to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve their targets and growth objectives.
  6. Collaborate closely with maritime, operations, and project management teams to ensure that client expectations are met, and services are delivered seamlessly.

Experience Required:

  1. Holds a STCW II/2 (Master Mariner) or STCW III/2 (Chief Engineer) or a degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent; or Senior Naval Officer (holding the rank of Captain or above).
  2. At least 10 years of experience in the maritime sector with at least eight spent in a senior managerial position.
  3. A strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the maritime sector, particularly in the passenger, bulk carriers, and tanker markets.
  4. Excellent networking & relationship building skills.
  5. Excellent understanding of international/regional regulatory legislation, especially environmental regulations.
  6. Excellent working knowledge of vessel operations and flag state duties.

This role offers an exceptional base salary which will vary depending on the location. You must have the right to work in the location you are applying for as no sponsorship will be available.
