Job description

The CRS (Corporate Reporting Services) network, formerly known as the Global ACS (GACS) team, is focused on the following expertise: Financial reporting (IFRS) and Sustainability reporting. It is made up of specialist consultants who analyze and decode current sustainability-related events, interpret and take positions on complex issues, answer technical questions by interpreting and giving views on standards, and develop our influence on the sustainability market. As part of the development of our team, we are looking for a Senior Manager, who would be core to our Sustainability reporting team which is building our expertise in this rapidly evolving area. The Senior Manager would support the activities of the Sustainability Reporting Topic Team (SRTT) and of the Sustainability Reporting Oversight Group (SROG). We are looking for an experienced Sustainability reporting and/or IFRS person to join our team, with the enthusiasm to get involved and a willingness to learn. You will be joining the GAQ-CRS team, part of Global Assurance Quality, working from your home territory. There is also an opportunity to structure this role on a 50:50 basis, with the remainder of your time spent in your home team.
Investors and broader stakeholders are increasingly demanding more strategic, holistic information about long-term value creation and a company's wider impact on society. There is an urgent need for sustainability reporting to be reported in a way that is globally consistent, comparable, and trusted. The SRTT has been created in the CRS Network (and led by the SR team within GAQ-CRS) to address this need. The Sustainability Reporting Oversight Group, comprising a team of senior sustainability leaders across the PwC network, has been formed to oversee the Topic Team's activities.

This recruitment is part of PwC's response to the accelerated evolution in sustainability reporting:

  • Priority focus on climate risk and sustainable development issues within the reporting market.
  • Increased stakeholder expectations on the sustainability performance of companies, and the related reporting requirements.
  • Standardization of sustainability frameworks and standards.

  • Implementation of the green taxonomy and new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) (revision of Non-Financial Reporting Directive) by the European Union.
  • The issue of draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) and the adoption of standards expected in 2023 and application in 2024.
  • The ISSB's development of an IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Taxonomy for digital reporting.

You will be involved in:

  • Coordinating sustainability group projects:

    • Defining milestones and keeping up to date with the progress of ongoing projects.
    • Coordinating at a local and regional level and coordinating with various cross-border functions and expertise (e.g. CRS (formerly known as ACS), ESG experts, CMAAS, methodology, auditors).
    • Identifying opportunities to leverage local initiatives.
    • Defining our internal policies.
  • Help shape the future of sustainability reporting standards by leading response letters to standard setters on discussion papers and exposure drafts and providing updates on other sustainability reporting frameworks.
