CONTEXT:
It is estimated that over half a million people fall victim to armed violence every year. The increase in armed violence using explosive weapons, improvised explosive devices and small arms and light weapons is affecting civilian populations with a longer-term impact. Global international, national and local action to reduce the impact of conventional weapons is an essential part of Handicap International's / Humanité & Inclusion's (HI) scope of intervention, aimed at bridging the gap between humanitarianism and development. HI implements an integrated model of mine action and armed violence reduction (AVR) to maximize the benefits of a given project and contribute to a world where people can lead safe and fulfilling lives in peaceful and inclusive communities.
To achieve this goal, HI is recruiting a dynamic, creative and bilingual Armed Violence Reduction (AVR) Policy and Development Manager (PDM).

You work on a day-to-day basis with a large range of actors within the HI structure, including:
YOUR PROFILE:
With a university degree, preferably in conflict/security management, international development or international relations, you have at least 3 years' experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in mine action, arms and munitions management, armed violence reduction and related disciplines.
Your experience has enabled you to develop skills in project management, strategy design and partnership building. Recognized for your ability to react quickly and take the initiative, you are prepared to travel from time to time, including to fragile or conflict-affected countries.
You are fluent in English and have a good command of French. Knowledge of another language (Arabic, Spanish, etc.) at an advanced level would be an asset!
