Job Description

Location: Dover, Kent

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

Hybrid Working

Prima Systems are looking for an experienced curtain wall, window and door designer to work alongside our existing design team.

Prima works on commercial projects throughout the South East, ranging from Tier 1 to local contractors.

This is a hybrid working position.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the design process for new build commercial glazing projects.
Review project specifications and prepare a design scope for our CAD technicians.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to achieve design, operational and cost objectives, whilst maintaining regulatory compliance.
Be able to produce high end technical drawings and AutoCAD design proposals
Identify, manage and resolve design risks.
Deal with technical queries from client through to site installation
Handover to project managers for ordering but maintain technical oversight of the project.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a similar role working on new build commercial projects.
Experience of working on projects up to £2m in value.
Proven industry experience and a good understanding of the building regulations and BS standards relating to the design and workings of window, door, and curtain-walling systems.
Excellent knowledge of curtain walling, windows, doors and glazing systems
Ability to overcome technical challenges
A good understanding of the design implications on the site installation
Have a good eye for detail and accuracy
Be able to confidently read and understand Technical drawings
Be able to work diligently alone and within a well-established design team
Understand of the commercial aspects of the business (lead times, costs)
