Position Overview

• Full Time position with a fortnightly RDO
• Band 6 Salary range $88,829 to $98,566 plus statutory superannuation
• Be part of the Council’s Assets team for one of the largest inland regional cities in the country.
• Develop and maintain Council’s Asset Management Information Systems.
• Provide specialist GIS and systems advice to Council’s business units.
• Work with multidisciplined teams to provide specialist advice to external and internal stakeholders using Council’s GIS and ICT technologies.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GIS and Asset Data Officer to join our team and contribute to our implementation of best practice asset management systems. You will play a key role in utilising geospatial technologies and Council’s Asset Management Information Systems applying analytical techniques to support various departments and initiatives. About You

The City of Ballarat Assets team is looking for an experienced and qualified individual to take up the role of GIS and Asset Data Officer.

Reporting to the Asset Systems Lead, this role will see you responsible for contributing to the management of the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) and providing support in the development and maintenance of Asset Management Information Systems with a focus on infrastructure.

Mandatory experience in the use and management of spatial systems and software including QGIS, ArcGIS, and ESRI. Desirable experience in using Asset Management Information Systems such as Confirm.

The successful candidate will also need:

• Experience with Asset Management, GIS, MS reports services software, SQL script writing, and Windows-based computer applications.
• Relevant experience in data collection, management, analysis, and outcome reporting.
• An applicable tertiary qualification, degree or postgraduate degree or extensive experience in computer science or geographical information systems (or similar) with extensive practical experience.
