German speaking Head of Sales
Location: Bedford
Hybrid work with 2 days a week in the office
Salary: between £60,000 and £80,000 depending on experience plus car allowance and bonus

An award-winning British designer and manufacturer of packaging solutions providing innovative products to a variety of industries.

Main duties:

1. Lead and manage the sales team to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.
2. Manage key accounts and act as point of escalation if needed.
3. Develop and execute sales strategies.
4. Grow and expand the customer base within Europe by identifying prospective new markets.
5. Build strong relationships with customers and present products and services as needed.
6. Increase sales opportunities through proposals and presentations.
7. Liaise with internal departments to ensure effective sales, marketing, service, and credit.
8. Manage cost evaluations, budgets, pipeline development, and business retention.
9. Provide detailed sales forecasting and reports to management.
10. Research and maintain knowledge of products, market trends, and competitors.
11. Ensure adherence to policies, terms, and conditions.
12. Participate in events and tradeshows.
13. Select, develop, and train team members, ensuring regular reviews and feedback.

The candidate:

• Fluent in German essential.
• Fluent in another European language beneficial - either French, Italian or Spanish.
• Degree educated.
• Background in the food or packaging sector required.
• Experience in Sales as a Sales Executive or Sales Manager needed.
• Experience in leading or managing a team necessary.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and exceeding targets.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and present.
• Driven, ambitious and motivated.
