We're seeking a Geotechnical Training Manager to join our innovative Engineering team at Geoquip Marine & take ownership of the Training & Development of our Geotechnical Engineers.

Joining Geoquip Marine in Bristol as our Geotechnical Training Manager offers the opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge training programs, mentor future geotechnical professionals, and drive continuous improvement in technical skills and safety practices. You’ll collaborate with management and site teams, develop engaging content aligned with industry standards, and play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

What you’ll do:

  1. Design & Deliver: Develop and implement dynamic training programs for geotechnical staff, covering soil and rock logging, testing, and data interpretation, tailored to all experience levels.
  2. Create Engaging Content: Produce manuals, guides, and e-learning materials aligned with industry standards (BS5930, ISO, ASTM) to ensure consistency and compliance.
  3. Mentor & Inspire: Act as a mentor, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and adherence to Health & Safety regulations.
  4. Evaluate & Improve: Monitor trainee progress through assessments and feedback, refining training programs to meet evolving industry needs.
  5. Collaborate & Lead: Partner with management and site teams to identify training needs, maintain compliance records, and coordinate schedules effectively.
  6. Promote Safety: Champion safe work practices through risk assessment training and promoting an ethical work environment.
  7. Talent Development: Support recruitment efforts through careers fairs & STEM activities, interview candidates and assist engineers in achieving Geological and Civil Engineering Chartership.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock logging.
  • Driven by a genuine passion for empowering others through impactful training and skills development.
  • Certification in training, education, or a related discipline is a plus.
