Geotechnical Engineers UK Wide Hybrid

About the opportunity

We are looking to develop our ground engineering capabilities within the Energy & Environment business and are seeking to recruit Geotechnical Engineers with hands-on experience of geotechnical design.

As a ground engineering professional within Amentum, you will play a critical role in managing ground risk by delivering technical assurance, oversight and direction to a diverse range of projects in support of nuclear and defence clients in the UK and abroad.

You will also work with Head of Ground Engineering in developing and implementing strategies to grow the team with the objective of directly delivering ground engineering design to a variety of existing and future projects involving:

• Feasibility, sustainability, value engineering and innovation studies
• Land-based and overwater-based ground investigation and data management
• Ground characterisation and Ground Modelling of soil and rock
• Design and specification of innovative and sustainable structures
• 2d/3d numerical modelling; and Construction support

Reporting to the Head of Ground Engineering, the successful candidates will hold strong technical credentials, with particular focus on the design of ground engineering structures. We have strategic offices out of Glasgow, Bristol, Reading.

Here's what you need

• Degree (BSc, BEng, Meng) Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology
• Ideally an MSc or higher post-graduate qualification specializing in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology
• Chartered member of Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng), The Geological Society (CGeol) or in progress as we can support
• RoGEP Specialist / Advisor, or equivalent experience
• Plenty of post-professional qualification experience
• Strong technical knowledge of ground engineering with a focus on geotechnical design and technical leadership
• Relevant geotechnical design experience undertaken in accordance with EN1997 and other British Standards
• Codes of Practice for deep / shallow foundations, basements, retaining structures, reinforced earth, excavations, earthworks, ground treatment, and settlement
• You must be a UK National and have the ability to obtain SC level security clearance, which includes being resident in the UK for the preceding 5 years.
