Geotechnical Engineer

Our Opportunity
Do you want to work on a diverse range of exciting projects? Are you looking to work within a collaborative team as part of a growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy? Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer who delivers projects with minimal support from Senior staff? We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to supplement our growing team in the Midlands, with the aim of providing an increase to our current geotechnical design capabilities. As we have also adopted agile working, this role will be a balance of home and office working.

Your core duties will include:

  1. Independent production of quality desk studies, Ground Investigation Reports and Geotechnical Design Reports (to E.C.7 & CD622).
  2. Independent scoping and specification of ground investigation works (to ICE Specification for Ground Investigations 3rd Edition) and provide Investigation Supervisor role for ground investigations.
  3. Completing technically sound geotechnical designs in accordance with Eurocodes for a range of solutions and complexities.

About You
You will be committed to enhancing our positive working culture, by having a compassionate attitude and always treating others with respect. In order to be considered for this role, you must:

  1. Relevant degree (BEng / MEng - Civil Engineering / Engineering Geology & Geotechnics / BSc - Geology with Masters in Geotechnics).
  2. Previous experience within geotechnical design, covering a range of solutions.
  3. Application of geotechnical implications of common UK geologies.
  4. Appreciation of construction phase inputs and buildability of geotechnical designs.
  5. Working knowledge of CDM 2015 from a Designer's point of view.

In order to stand out from the crowd, it is desirable for you to be keen to develop and learn, and working towards Chartership with the ICE or the Geological Society of London. Good clarity and confidence in communication; writing, drawing, on screen and in person.
