Geotechnical Engineer

Leap Environmental, an RSK Group company, is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Goudhurst, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

As an Experienced Engineer, you will be expected to support the delivery of geo-environmental and geotechnical projects and demonstrate technical, commercial, and project management capabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, managing, supervising, and undertaking ground investigations, including financial management and directing junior staff in the field. Good communication skills are required to inform and liaise with subcontractors and to keep the client appraised of findings and progress.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and managing a variety of geo-environmental and geotechnical ground investigation and interpretative projects for both external clients and for other teams within RSK.
• Providing technical support at all stages of assigned projects and controlling project costs.
• Overseeing ground investigations.
• Soil and occasional rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling.
• Geotechnical analysis and design.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BEng or BSc or equivalent in Civil, Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering or similar.
• A further degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnics, or Environmental Science or equivalent is desirable.
• Registered with a suitable professional body and working towards Chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g. Geol Soc/CIWEM/ICE).
• Around 5 years of specific relevant experience is typically required.
• A good understanding of geology, ground investigation works, engineering geology, and geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering.
