Approach Personnel are pleased to be working with a reputable Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Consultancy to recruit a Geotechnical Consultant as part of their Bristol based team.
This Consultant role focuses around working within a team of experienced geotechnical and geoenvironmental specialists to provide consultancy services to clients in a range of sectors. This role would be perfect for someone who has worked in a Graduate or Junior Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Consultant or Engineer role and is looking to take the next step up, or someone who has been successfully working in a Consultant role who is looking for a new challenge with a great opportunity to grow.
Day-to-Day
As a Geotechnical Consultant, here’s what your day could look like:
- Conducting preconstruction investigations on site, including ground testing, soil sampling, and data collection and analysis, followed by producing detailed reports.
- Planning geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects based out of the Bristol office, helping to identify and set key timeframes and milestones for project delivery.
- Taking responsibility for the coordination of project resources including labour, materials, and suppliers.
- Analysing and assessing data to produce outcomes for projects, using relevant software and technical knowledge, including health and safety standards and technical guidance documents.
- Working to schedule and analysing Chemical and Geotechnical Testing Data as provided by third parties.
About You
- A Bachelor’s Degree in either Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering, or an adjacent/relevant field; a secondary qualification such as an MSc or Meng is also desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience working in a role based around the site supervision of investigation works and projects.
- Self-sufficient and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and desire to progress.
- Ideally Chartered with a relevant professional body like ICE or CIWEM, however not essential.
- Computer and Geotechnical Software Literate.
- Full UK Clean Driving License and willingness to travel as part of the role.
Salary and Contract Details
- £30,000 - 35,000 depending on experience.
- 33 Days Annual Leave including Bank Holidays.

- Hybrid Working Available, typically 2 Days in Office per week.
