RSK Geosciences are recruiting for a Near Surface Geophysicist to join the team based in Helsby. This is a full-time, permanent position.
The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. Responsibilities:
- Work within our experienced team under the guidance of the Principal Geophysicist and Team Leader
- Preparation for and undertaking site work using a variety of geophysical techniques, data processing, interpretation, and report production.
- Mentor and/or line manage junior members of the team
- Manage ongoing projects and liaise with clients as required
- Preparing proposals
Qualifications/Experience:
- Near Surface Geophysicist (2-3 years' experience)
- Competent in use of GPR, ERT, Seismic Refraction, MASW, Microgravity, Magnetics and Electromagnetic instrumentation.
- Experienced in processing data for the above techniques.
- Competent user of High Precision GPS, Total Stations.
- Competent user of 2D AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong IT skills including Excel, CAD and some programming would be an advantage
- Must hold a UK driving license
- Must be prepared to travel and stay away from home when required
