Part-Time Teacher of Geography (Maternity Cover) - 1 Year Contract

Start: September 2025 - 4 Days per Week (80% Timetable)

Location: Near Leatherhead, Surrey

Salary: Competitive Independent School Pay Scale (MP2 - MP6)

Are you a passionate and dynamic Geography teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity? We are working with a vibrant and well-respected secondary school to recruit a Teacher of Geography to join their dedicated Humanities department on a one-year maternity contract, starting in September 2025.

This is an exciting chance to become part of a forward-thinking school community that values academic excellence, collaboration, and enrichment beyond the classroom.

The Role:

  • Teach Geography across KS3 & KS4 (AQA 8035)
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to a diverse range of learning styles
  • Work within a supportive department that values innovation, fieldwork, and cross-curricular links (especially with Science)
  • Contribute to the wider school life including trips, clubs, and parent/community events
  • Be a form tutor and support the pastoral care of students

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of the AQA GCSE syllabus
  • A track record of effective and inspiring teaching at secondary level
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and willing to contribute to extracurricular and pastoral responsibilities
