Job description

We are now recruiting for a skilled machinist to join a small, close-knit team as a General Machinist Setter / Operator / Inspector in the Dudley area.


About the Role


Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, you will be responsible for setting and operating a range of machines, ensuring high-quality production and supporting goods-in inspection.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Set and operate Riello machine centres, Pedestal Drills, Lathes, and Milling Machines
  2. Work to tight tolerances and read engineering drawings
  3. Use Verniers and Micrometers to ensure precision
  4. Provide goods-in inspection for Far East sourced products, checking against drawings and tolerances
  5. Support Assembly operations when required
  6. Operate machinery safely, following TD guidelines and manufacturers' recommendations
  7. Manufacture components to agreed quality standards
  8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  1. Previous experience in setting and operating machinery (as listed above)
  2. CNC experience is an advantage but not essential
  3. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work to precise tolerances
  4. Strong teamwork skills
