This premium pub company is an awesome company to work for. The General Manager will oversee the overall operation of the gastro pub & kitchen, ensuring a high standard of service, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent food quality. This role requires strong leadership, operational management, and a keen understanding of both front-of-house and back-of-house activities. The General Manager will lead the team, drive sales, maintain budgets, and ensure a memorable experience for all guests.

You must be a strong leader and a management entrepreneur who has great ambition to progress and create a fun and safe atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • All elements of profit and loss accounts
  • Driving revenue through various sales and marketing tools
  • Training & developing staff at all levels
  • Cellar management
  • Good understanding about food & drink
  • Being commercially minded
  • Planning, organising, and coming up with creative working ideas
  • Being passionate about customer service
  • Strong man management skills
  • Thinking on your feet and coming up with conclusive ideas
  • Identifying problems and reacting to resolve the issues
  • Dealing with costs in line with sales

Keeping up to date with licensing legislation, liaising with the authorities, and taking overall legal responsibility for the premises.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
  • Experienced in a similar gastro pub background at General Manager level
  • Able to work with teams of over 20+ staff
  • Coming from a food-led pub background
  • Completing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, stock levels, and staff performance
  • Having strong financial understanding
  • Able to work in a high-demanding environment
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, labor costs, and profit margins
  • Able to instruct clear instructions to the senior management team and staff members
  • Having a good understanding of quality food & drink
  • Conducting regular team training to maintain high levels of customer service and product knowledge
  • Flexible in working different shift patterns
