As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our team and ensure that every aspect of the café operates smoothly and efficiently.
Role Overview:
As the General Manager at 21 Grams Coffee, you will play a central role in the day-to-day operations of the café. You will lead by example, overseeing all aspects of the business, from managing staff and ensuring high-quality service to handling financials and maintaining stock levels. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of the coffee industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of baristas and café staff, ensuring high standards of service, teamwork, and customer engagement.
- Schedule shifts and manage staff rotas to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews, providing feedback and development opportunities to enhance team performance and morale.
- Foster a positive and supportive work culture where staff feel valued and empowered.
Quality Control & Customer Experience:
- Ensure that all products, from coffee to food offerings, meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly, maintaining a high level of service at all times.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the café to ensure the space remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
Financial Management & Stock Control:
- Manage the café’s financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and tracking of sales and expenses.
- Order stock and supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring the café is always well-stocked without over-ordering.
- Handle cash, banking, and petty cash, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to company policies.
Community Engagement & Business Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring that the café remains a valued part of the local Fulham community.
- Actively promote 21 Grams Coffee within the community, engaging with local businesses and customers to drive loyalty and growth.
- Explore and implement new ideas to improve customer experience and drive sales.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for both staff and customers, addressing any issues promptly.
- Oversee food hygiene standards and ensure all staff are trained and up-to-date with necessary certifications.
Skills & Experience Required:
- At least 2 years of barista experience, with a strong knowledge of coffee and espresso-based drinks.
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role, ideally within a café or hospitality setting.
- Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, cost control, and stock management.
- A solid understanding of food hygiene practices and relevant certifications.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle operational challenges calmly and efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for customer service and community engagement.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
