Transport General Manager: Dedicated to the Next Contract
Site Location: Doncaster Hub + approx 30 other sites nationwide: full coverage with up to 75% travel.

This pivotal role is customer facing, it requires a dynamic leader to drive operational performance, safety, quality, and compliance while fostering an inclusive and engaged workforce.

As a Transport General Manager on this high-profile contract, you'll be at the heart of a fast-paced logistics operation that directly influences the shopping experience for millions. You'll play a crucial role in optimising transportation networks, ensuring timely deliveries, and enhancing efficiency across the supply chain.

This position allows you to leverage your expertise to drive innovative solutions that not only reduce costs but also elevate customer satisfaction. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

  • Lead operational performance for the Next contract, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and achievement of customer and DHL KPIs.
  • Cultivate a culture of respect and results, driving an inclusive operating environment that promotes collaboration and continuous improvement with both DHL and our customers.
  • Deliver financial performance through effective operational delivery and trading improvements, ensuring P&L delivery aligns with DHL's budget and growth aspirations.
  • Maintain optimal efficiency across warehouse and transport operations, in line with benchmark CPUs.
  • Proactively monitor and enhance customer satisfaction using CXM surveys and improvement tools.
  • Ensure legal compliance and safe working practices across warehouse and transport functions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the customer's management team through integration and collaborative working partnerships.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • Experience managing transport operations within a Supply Chain Division.
  • National and International CPC holder.
  • Network trunking and final mile network experienced.
  • Proven track record of delivering both financial and operational results.
  • Background in Transport, Logistics, or Warehouse management.
  • Experience in general management with P&L responsibility.
  • Strong customer management experience and experience working with unions.
  • Working knowledge of production line feed call systems and cycles.
  • Ability to manage a team spread across the UK.
