General Farm Worker/Estate Maintenance, Wiltshire

We are looking for a General Farm Worker for a 1500-acre estate in Wiltshire.

Duties would include:

1. Tractor Work
2. Shakerating
3. Disking
4. Rolling
5. Spring Tyne work for seed bed prep
6. Grass Rolling
7. Chain Harrowing
8. Corn Carting – Harvest
9. Carting Fertiliser and loading the spreader
10. Loading the grain lorry
11. Carting horse muck
12. Splitting logs
13. Topping

You would also be required to do livery yard jobs including dropping hay and straw supplies to the yard and maintenance work for the upkeep of electric fencing, water lines, and stable blocks. General farm work includes maintaining machinery, greasing of equipment and tractors, blowing down combine, and helping to maintain the drill, sprayer, spreader, and combine. Rouging to work through the wheat, barley, and pea crops multiple times at both farms.

This role will also include estate work, such as:

1. Knapsacking around the whole farm
2. Fencing
3. Repairing farm tracks and buildings
4. Upholding hedges and grass margins in line with environmental agreements
5. Strimming

You will be expected to clean and help with insecticide in grain stores and dryer buildings and be responsible for the maintenance of the dryer and grain stores.

The role will also include some work to maintain and help care for the lakes, such as assisting in netting the lakes, tree work on and around the lakes, and fencing work. Flexible accommodation options are available depending on circumstances.
