PowerOn Advantage Solution Consultant
Based: Edinburgh / Glasgow / Reading / Portsmouth
3 Month contract initially
£550 - £575 P/D (Umbrella-PAYE)

One of our blue chip clients are looking for a PowerOn Advantage Solution Consultant to join the team on a long term programme of work. We have a requirement for a PowerOn Solution Consultant to support the delivery of the OMS solution and its integration to relevant systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power Utilities SCADA Architecture deployment experience.
2. PoA integrations System.
3. Testing of PoA functionalities.
4. Good experience in PowerOn Advantage application and deployment of various components.
5. Detailed understanding of PoA architecture and its components.
6. Should have worked on deployment of at least 2-3 POA systems in Power Utilities.
7. Should have experience in integrating PoA with OT applications like GIS, WFM, PI, Historian and other corporate application systems.
8. Customer interactions and working in multi-vendor environment.
9. Arrange end to end solution for the deployment of the product from planning & engineering functions.
10. Securing a smooth hand-over of the solution/resource to Operations.
11. Should be capable of providing guidance in defining solution architecture considering integration of PoA with external systems.
12. Expertise in developing test plan / cases, acceptance and transition.
13. Knowledge of and a working familiarity with current standards, and regulations governing power systems.

Key Skills / Experience:

1. Network configuration of SCADA, DMS, OMS in PoA.
2. Experience of system integration, working on multi-discipline projects.
3. Good experience in PowerOn Advantage application and its components.
4. Should have knowledge on writing PL/SQL, Shell, PFL, Perl scripts.
5. Configuration of SCADA, DMS, OMS in PoA.
6. Should have worked on different modules like Group Tele Control, Automation, system tracing, Symbol Design, Alarm Configurations, etc. in PoA.
7. Configuration and setup of SOAP services and interfaces.
8. Setup of PoA Application and Database server, reports server, FEP server, Historian database and DPF (Dist. Power Flow) application server, Proxy Server.
9. Reports development using Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder & deploying the reports to SQL Server Reporting Services.
10. Bringing Servers into replication and testing replication of various servers (Application Servers, Reports and Proxy Servers).
11. Knowledge on PoA cartography for network build.
12. Good level of understanding on Windows and Linux server.
13. IT/OT and security standards (e.g., NERC CIP).
14. Use relevant utility experience to engage with client utilities to understand their specific applications, approaches and methodologies in Electric Distribution Operational systems.

Industry Knowledge Capability:

1. Good understanding of electric utility distribution planning, engineering and operations.
2. Utilize specialised utility system design and planning knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across engagements or multiple phases of a more complex engagement.
3. Assess effectiveness of client's use of tools, applications, processes to adapt to new OT applications for solution areas such as DERMS/DRMS/ADMS/OMS/SCADA.
4. Apply appropriate methods or recognised equivalent to identified client needs.
5. Anticipate and resolve technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others.
