Purpose
The Content Author is responsible for producing error-free, factually accurate assessments that align with the subject specification.

When carrying out your role, please be mindful that you represent Pearson and should maintain your professional integrity. Therefore, it is essential that you:
- Act at all times in a way which will not bring Pearson into disrepute.
- Read all Pearson policies and guidance prior to undertaking contracted activities.
- Respect the confidentiality of centres and learners.
- Attend any and all meetings or training sessions provided, relevant to your role.
- Adhere to deadlines given by Pearson and ensure that all work is carried out to the best of your ability.
- Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in a professional manner.
- Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson software and appropriate virus protection.
- Communicate with Pearson and its centres in a timely manner.
- Raise any concerns regarding malpractice or safeguarding issues.
Role Specific Services and Expectations
In addition to Pearson’s core services expectations, you must be able to provide:
- Assessment materials that comply with the Global Content Policy and support accessibility and inclusion.
- High-quality assessment materials that meet the assessment criteria.
- Materials appropriate to the specific range of ability.
- Advice on subject specialist matters throughout the production process.
- Adherence to production schedules and turnaround requests.
- Assessment materials that ensure clarity and fit for purpose.
- Accurate sources for any materials used.
- Graphics and images that are from reputable sources and error-free.
- Appropriate responses required by the mark scheme.
- Compliance with the current specification demands.
- Reviewing and marking up comments on assessment materials.
- Feedback on drafts at each stage and attendance at sign-off meetings.
- Updating all associated materials throughout the production process.
- Signing off the final assessment materials.
- Supporting modified paper amendments where requested.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Experience:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the specific content area.
- Proven ability to provide and co-ordinate training.
- Proven track record of leading quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
- Degree
- A UK recognised teaching qualification
