2-3 years of experience in gas fitting and installation.
Must hold a Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B.

Install and maintain gas lines, meters, and regulators.
Advise clients on safety features and maintenance.
Test for gas leaks and replace defective equipment.

Salary: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
Hours: 37.5 to 44 hours per week

Education and Experience

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Responsibilities

Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
Prepare tenders and quotations
Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems
Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
Estimate costs and materials
Install and service propane and natural gas filling stations
Test and replace defective equipment or components

Qualifications

Certificates, licences, memberships: Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Transportation/travel: Valid driver's licence
