Functional Skills Tutor – Newcastle
Pay: £110 - £175 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long-Term

Are you a committed and passionate educator with a knack for Functional Skills? Do you love helping learners unlock their potential in English, Maths, and ICT?

GSL Education is on the lookout for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join a supportive and inclusive school in Newcastle. This is a rewarding role, ideal for someone who’s ready to make a real difference in students’ lives.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons in Functional Skills
2. Track and assess student progress, adapting teaching as needed
3. Provide tailored support to meet individual needs
4. Create a structured, positive, and motivating classroom environment
5. Prepare students for assessments and future pathways
6. Work closely with school staff and external professionals

What We’re Looking For:

1. Experience teaching Functional Skills (English, Maths & ICT)
2. A sound understanding of differentiated instruction and SEND needs
3. Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
4. A genuine passion for helping young people succeed and grow

Requirements:

A fully updated CV (covering the last 10 years) and an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
