About The Role

We're looking to hire someone for the front-end practice who's happy working across the stack to support the needs of that group. We're hoping to give you a fairly wide remit to make improvements to the experience of using and creating some of our web applications. The target is the front-end apps, and a lot of the work will be on those React-based projects, but there will be plenty of opportunity to contribute to the Java back end, too.

Our front-end applications are built in-house with JavaScript/TypeScript, React and more. We're currently looking for people interested in working on the admin application used by all of Operations to run the bank.

Responsibilities

• Helping to maintain the shared code various web projects (most notably the admin app used by all of our operations teams)
• Driving and developing changes which ensure we can roll out updates to users as safely and efficiently as possible
• Supporting the wider organisation in making quality contributions to the projects

Requirements

• Experience in a Full Stack Engineering role and willingness to work in a Full Stack capacity across Front and Back End, ideally 3+ years experience
• JavaScript/HTML/CSS are always handy for front-end teams
• Our projects generally use React & TypeScript, so knowledge in that area helps, too (though they're easy enough to pick up if not)
• The back end is written in Java, so that would be ideal. But we have plenty of Java engineers around who are happy to onboard anyone with some backend experience, and an interest in learning
• Beyond that, we wouldn't say no to knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud providers

Our process:

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. In general you can expect the below, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:

• Initial phone call - :45 minutes
• Take home technical test (no time limit)
• Technical interview - :1.5 hours
• Final Interview - :45 minutes
