Full-Time Nanny Little Baddow/Danbury- Essex

Permanent Position | Full Time | Competitive Salary

Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency is seeking an experienced, caring, and proactive full-time nanny for a lovely family based in Little Baddow/Danbury, Essex. The family is looking for a nurturing and engaging nanny to care for their two children (a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy) in a long-term, stable role.

Role Overview:

  • Hours: Term Time Monday to Thursday 7am-7pm, Friday 8am-1pm (exact hours will be confirmed when schedule arrives for September).
  • Non term time: Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-1pm.
  • Term Time Dates: October-November, mid-January-mid-March, April-June.
  • Start Date: From April 2025.
  • Driver Required: Yes (family home is in a semi-rural location).
  • Experience Required: Minimum 7 years of professional nannying / childcare experience.
  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, around £17-18 gross per hour.

About the Family & Children:

The family is warm and welcoming, looking for a nanny to become a valued part of their home. Their two children are curious, energetic, and love outdoor play, books, pretend play, and creative activities. The eldest attends preschool three days a week and will start Reception in September 2025. She enjoys swimming and ballet. The youngest is a sweet-natured, active toddler who attends toddler classes and swimming lessons. They would love a nanny who will focus on the children's development, especially around their creativity and love for reading.

The family home is in a peaceful setting with a large garden and easy access to Chelmsford and Maldon. The location offers excellent transport links to central London via car or train.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sole charge responsibilities.
  • Nursery duties: Children's laundry, ironing, cooking, food shopping (online & in-person).
  • Planning and engaging in fun, educational activities that enrich their learning and creativity.
  • School & activity drop-offs/pick-ups.
  • Encouraging good manners, independence, and emotional development.
  • Maintaining a structured daily routine, while allowing for independent play.
  • Keeping parents informed with daily updates on progress, activities, and any concerns.
  • Managing the nanny purse for expenses, ensuring receipts and records are kept.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Kind, patient, and fun with a sense of humour and an ability to set clear rules.
  • Passionate about early childhood development with a love for books and learning.
  • Proactive in organising age-appropriate activities and outings (e.g., soft play, farm visits).
  • Strong communicator who is comfortable updating parents on daily activities.
  • Ideally, has experience with both toddlers and school-age children.
  • Reliable and adaptable, able to support the family's changing schedule around term times.

Essential Requirements:

  • To be considered for this role, you must have:

️ An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
️ A 12-hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate.
️ Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ, NNEB, or equivalent).
️ A full UK driving licence.
️ Excellent references from previous nanny roles.

Additional Information:

  • Parents work from home on some days (Mum will be studying for a postgraduate degree), hence the need for more support around university term times.
  • Household also employs a cleaner.
