Full Stack Engineer - Hybrid - Reading (2 days in Reading p/w)

measurable.energy is dedicated to creating innovative energy solutions. Our mission is to eliminate all wasted energy in buildings, significantly reducing global carbon emissions. By combining machine learning technology with behavioural change, we automate the process of finding and removing energy waste at scale. Our solution eliminates 30-50% of total electricity usage in most commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack web applications.
2. Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and Django.
3. Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using React or Svelte.
4. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver value-driven features.
5. Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and agile ceremonies.
6. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
7. Work with version control, ticketing, and development tools like Git, Jira, and the CLI.
8. Write and optimise SQL queries and use ORMs for efficient data access.
9. Debug and resolve application issues, and continuously improve performance and reliability.

Must-Have Skills

1. Python and Django for back-end development.
2. Experience with JavaScript/Node.js for server and client-side logic.
3. Proficiency with React or Svelte for front-end development.
4. Comfortable with Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipeline tools.
5. Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
6. Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
7. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in sprints.

Nice-to-Have Skills

1. Experience with DevOps practices.
2. Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
3. Working knowledge of C#/.NET ecosystems.
4. Experience with PostgreSQL.
5. Proficiency with ORMs (e.g., Django ORM, SQLAlchemy, Sequelize).
