We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack JavaScript Developer to join our Experience Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of innovative web and mobile applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Your role

Are you someone who could:

1. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers, guiding them through best practices and ensuring high-quality code.
2. Design, develop, and maintain both front-end and back-end components of web and mobile applications using JavaScript, Node.js, and modern frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
3. Collaborate with architects and other developers to design robust, scalable, and secure architectures for new projects and enhancements to existing systems.
4. Lead and participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
5. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.
6. Continuously improve our teams’ development processes, tools, and techniques to enhance productivity and product quality.
7. Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
8. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and drive continuous learning and innovation within the team.

Your skills and experience

Preferred Experience

1. Proven experience in full stack JavaScript development, with a strong focus on Node.js and server-side development.
2. Experience of at least one leading Node framework (Express.js, Nest.js, Hapi.js).
3. Expertise in at least one modern front-end framework (Nest.js, Remix.js).
4. A track record in a lead or senior developer role, with experience of mentoring and guiding development teams.
5. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
6. Experience with TypeScript and modern development tools and practices.
7. Experience of Test Driven or Behaviour Driven Development.
8. Knowledge of Cloud-Native development and serverless architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
9. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
10. Experience with version control systems (Git).
11. Understanding of web standards, accessibility, performance and development best practice.
12. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

Desirable Experience

1. Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful.
2. Experience of modern tooling such as Vite, Vitest.
3. Familiarity with microservices architecture and API development (REST, GraphQL).
4. Working with NoSQL MongoDB or SQL databases such as Postgres.
5. Experience with mobile app development using React Native.
6. Knowledge of UI component libraries like Material UI, and tools such as Figma and Storybook.

Your Security Clearance

Security Check (SC) Clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
