Job description

Software Engineer – Java, React, AWS

• £60,000 - £70,000 + full benefits
• Hybrid working arrangements (1 day per fortnight on-site)
• Occasional onsite requirement in Bristol, Cheltenham, London or Manchester
• Work on large-scale UK Government projects using modern tech stacks
• Full software lifecycle development with Java for backend development and React for frontend development
• Cloud exposure (AWS / Azure)

• Must hold SC Clearance or be eligible to gain SC Clearance

THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a cross-functional Agile team delivering a bespoke solution for a high-impact government programme. You’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle – from requirements analysis to system design, development, testing, deployment, and support. You’ll use open-source libraries and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and be instrumental in building secure, scalable solutions in a CI/CD environment.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Commercial experience with Java, React and JavaScript
• Exposure to cloud technologies (ideally AWS or Azure)
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitLab
• Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills
