Architect – Frontend

  • As a Frontend Architect, you’ll partner with Product and Delivery Managers to architect and orchestrate building highly scalable and performant applications. Architect brings strong leadership and development skills including facilitating change, driving design excellence, code quality standards, and striving for continuous improvement. You will be influential in the overarching technology choices for the program and be a guardian of a world-class customer experience.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in defining FE Architecture, Design & working with eCommerce as a backend engine.
  • Must have led at least one Headless Commerce Implementation Project across all SDLC phases.
  • Knowledge of Composable Commerce Stacks and a basic understanding of platforms like Salesforce or Commercetools.
  • Lead/mentor/guide a team.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, environment management plans, development policies, and participate in requirements-gathering workshops to influence the strategic direction of projects and lead business through solution design.
  • Execution of best practice standards: design, coding, environment, data.
  • Document any newly developed functionality in solution designs.
  • Partner end-to-end with Product Managers / Owners, Business Stakeholders, and business analysts to understand customer requirements and process flows and translate them into Salesforce technology solutions.
  • Manage all application architecture artifacts.
  • Ongoing application rationalization and simplification of user experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of technical details to translate proposed solutions into functional specifications with the technical team.
  • Manage technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of the applications built.
  • Build Proofs-Of-Concept to illustrate possible technical solutions to stakeholders and technical staff.
  • Establish and implement development patterns for technical staff to follow.
  • Define and implement DevOps processes to improve development quality.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching for solution and integration teams.
  • Establish and control technical definitions, rules, principles, and standards for teams.
  • Assess, review, and decide on all solution architecture designs.

Skills:

  • Expert understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS, and CSS preprocessors such as LESS and SASS.
  • Expert understanding of headless or platform (SFCC, Magento, etc.) specific architecture.
  • Knowledgeable in CMS, including headless CMS such as Builder.io or Contentful.
  • 8-10+ years of commerce experience.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
  • A keen eye for scope creep, solid judgment, and a pragmatic, collaborative approach to solving challenges of scope & budget.
  • Expert understanding of command line build utilities and task runners like npm and webpack.
  • Expert understanding of asynchronous requests, API integrations, partial page updates, SEO optimization & SSR, and page performance troubleshooting & optimization.
  • Understanding of usability concerns and experience in delivering standard, compliant, and accessible solutions (WCAG).
  • A commitment to documentation, consistency, reusability, and an eye for the big picture – approaching projects in ways that will grow and strengthen our practice.
  • Expert level understanding of version control systems including Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of common design patterns and methodologies.
