Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Front-End App Developer with strong expertise in modern development frameworks, agile delivery methods, and secure web applications. In this role, you will work closely with technical and non-technical teams to drive the development of the platform, ensuring it meets both business and user needs. You will be involved in building new features, identifying design discrepancies, and ensuring the platform evolves continuously.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with technical teams (including suppliers, contractors, and permanent staff) to develop secure features for web applications.
· Develop and enhance front-end features using modern JavaScript technologies (React, Typescript, NodeJS, Redux, etc.).
· Identify design discrepancies and UI defects in both production and non-production environments.
· Share knowledge and train colleagues to improve team skills and knowledge.
· Align decisions with technical direction to ensure consistency and stability in platform design.
· Anticipate and address project risks to ensure smooth service delivery.
· Work with UX specialists and service designers to translate wireframes and mock-ups into real interfaces.
· Promote operational improvements to enhance service stability and ensure continuous evolution of the platform.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Front-End Development: Expertise in modern JavaScript practices, including React, Typescript, NodeJS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, and React Testing Library.
· API Integration: Experience with RESTful APIs and writing unit and integration tests.
· CI/CD: Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, including build and package management.
· Best Practices: Strong understanding of programming best practices (Clean Code, SOLID) and microservice design patterns.
· Collaboration & Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior developers.
· Security & Compliance: Experience working on secure, compliant platforms in public sector environments.
Desired Skills:
· Accessibility: Commercial experience in building accessible websites that comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
· Multiple Frameworks: Familiarity with other JS frameworks such as Angular or Vue.
· Java Development: Experience with Java 8+ is a plus.
· Database Knowledge: Experience working with MySQL compatible databases (MySQL, RDS, Aurora, MariaDB).
· Cloud Expertise: Working knowledge of AWS and associated tooling.
· Containerization: Experience with Docker, Bash, and Shell Scripting.
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of the work and the client requirements, candidates must hold or be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) and SC (Security Check) clearance.
While SC clearance is preferred, candidates without it may still apply, with the understanding that clearance will be required for the role.
