Fraud MI Analyst

What you will do:

1. Support fraud risk governance through sourcing, handling, manipulation, and analysis of data and related materials to generate key metrics and reports.
2. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to source data reports that provide the raw data to generate fraud risk metrics and key performance and risk indicators (KPIs and KRIs).
3. Handle data reporting from a variety of business areas and systems, standardising and combining large data sets within Excel.
4. Process data reports to facilitate reporting, converting data to match reporting formats, definitions, and terminology. Facilitating downstream processes including PowerBI reports.
5. Perform sense-checks and data validation against known attributes to ensure data quality (accuracy/completeness/reliability/relevance/timeliness) on inputs and results.
6. Facilitate the delivery of key fraud reporting.
7. Sourcing and working on large data sets required to report key fraud metrics reported monthly, half yearly, or yearly to Internal Forums/Committees and regulatory bodies such as Pay.UK, PSR and the FCA.
8. Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data and consideration of aligning terminology and definitions with data parameters.
9. Supporting data sourcing and analysis within other key fraud processes.
10. Seek out opportunities to improve existing processes and leverage new systems and tools as they become available to the team.
11. Supporting the wider team during a time of change to facilitate enhancement of fraud data sourcing, processing, and reporting.
12. Any other duties as reasonably required by the role.

What you will need:

1. Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency. Familiarity with other Microsoft Office products, i.e. Word and PowerPoint.
2. Knowledge of SQL/SAS and PowerBI reporting.
3. Knowledge of banking data elements terminology and relevant parameters is beneficial e.g. customer, product and transaction types.
4. A good understanding of fraud typologies across all channels and a range of financial products and services.
