Job description

Due to growth in the team, we're looking for several Fraud Insight Agents to join the Fraud team within Operations.

The purpose of this role is to directly contribute to the fraud insights and response capability at VMO2 through the delivery of external fraud insights and storytelling. The fraud types this role would focus on include identity, account takeover, network, and other related fixed and mobile external frauds.

You will be based in one of, but work across all our three key delivery areas including:

  • Reporting, Dashboards and Tooling where you will deliver fraud reporting, create and improve Tableau dashboards and contribute to the development, decommissioning of, and maintenance of fraud insight databases.
  • Proactive Insights where you'll identify, monitor, and investigate emerging fraud trends/MOs at scale. You'll also corroborate identified threat intelligence and develop and maintain monitoring rules and systems.
  • Responsive Insights and Criminal Prosecutions where you'll be required to quickly respond to requests for fraud insight, and support facilitation of and contribute to fraud hackathons when needed. You may also assist in further investigations (including criminal prosecutions) as required.

As part of your work across these delivery areas, you will be required to identify appropriate data sources, extract and analyze the data from large datasets, and ultimately use storytelling to communicate those insights.

You'll also keep team assets up to date, and lead or contribute to key projects.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following:

  • Proven practical experience in fraud prevention, detection, and/or response
  • Considerable experience in data analysis, including extracting and analyzing data from large or complex datasets to draw insights
  • A high degree of technical proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), and SQL
  • Expertise in organizational storytelling, transforming data analysis into strategic, actionable, and communicable insights both in written and oral form
  • Demonstrable experience of working to tight timelines in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring:

  • Competency in or experience working with Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Access
  • An understanding of and confidence in comprehending complex data system architectures
  • Experience with identity fraud, account takeover, and/or network fraud
  • Familiarity with or experience in machine learning and/or predictive models
  • An understanding of basic agile principles
