Company Description

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.

Job Description

Your mission:

We are hiring for a Finance Business Analyst. Your mission is to help us better understand business performance, manage and scale costs effectively, and maximise return on investment for growth. You’ll support your lead by:

  1. Owning and improving reporting and month-end processes, producing analysis for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Driving variance analysis against forecasts to ensure accuracy and identify cost and revenue drivers.
  3. Reviewing operational metrics to assess team contribution to costs and uncover underlying drivers.
  4. Supporting headcount planning by reviewing hiring assumptions.
  5. Providing insights that help teams take action and support financial analysis and business partnering on strategic projects across the Product Development team.

This role is a unique opportunity to get hands-on with how our Products work and use your analytical skills to drive real impact.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  1. Understand the performance of our Product and Tech, dive into cost drivers and help improve growth and margins through better insights.
  2. Use data to shape Wise’s financial strategy, manage growth sustainably and optimise investment and cost management.
  3. Partner with department leads to help them understand their performance, cost base and support better decision-making.
  4. Own your path to success with high levels of autonomy and responsibility.
  5. Learn and grow in a fast-paced environment with plenty to do and improve.
  6. Produce insightful reporting, track actuals and highlight risks or opportunities vs forecasts.
  7. Help coordinate monthly and annual forecasts that directly impact the prices we charge customers.
  8. Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and scale reporting and operational processes.

A bit about you:

  1. Detail oriented, great at working autonomously and meeting deadlines.
  2. Have a strong analytical thought process.
  3. Have an ability to go beyond the numbers and understand the bigger picture.
  4. You have excellent communication skills and are able to influence others.
  5. You know how to work in a team and manage stakeholder expectations.

Skills:

  1. Passionate about what we’re building at Wise.
  2. Love digging into data, numbers, thinking systematically, and analysing inter-dependencies.
  3. Clear thinker: able to organise their thoughts well and communicate their analysis in a simple and structured way, whether in writing or in discussions.
  4. Keen to roll up sleeves and get the job done; we all do our own Excel still.
  5. Humble, comfortable operating with a level of uncertainty, keen to learn, and firm when required.
  6. Able to operate to defined timelines while bringing together a diverse stakeholder group.
  7. Able to work across multiple teams, offices, time zones (and travel when needed!) with flexibility and a can-do attitude.
