Job description

Fostering Recruitment Officer

Duration: 1 year contract
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate: £26 umbrella an hour (£20 PAYE an hour)

Lewisham Council are looking for a Fostering Recruitment and Enquiry Administrator/Officer to join their team on a maternity cover. This role will be hybrid, but requires 3 days a week in the office.


Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake activities to support the fostering recruitment for the council.
  2. Work closely with the Fostering Recruitment Team Manager and Communication and Marketing Officer to deliver the Lewisham Fostering Service recruitment processes for foster carers.
  3. Respond to enquiries efficiently and with reference to the relevant information and procedural requirements.
  4. Engage, by telephone, face to face, and digitally with people who are looking for information to foster.
  5. Lead on the initial response to prospective households, providing information and insight to enable the prospective carers to attend an information event.
  6. Request references and checks to various organisations as part of the fostering assessment.

Requirements:
  1. Good general standard of literacy and numeracy.
  2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows applications.
  3. Knowledge of online community facilitation tools and application of social media tools to build networks.
  4. Experience of setting up and maintaining administrative systems.
  5. Experience within a similar role.
