Job description

We are looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our client's team in the Birmingham area. In this role you will be responsible for arranging freight (Air, Road & Sea) shipments from beginning to end. These processes need to be handled with great customer service with time and cost efficiency in mind. To be considered for the role, you must have previous freight forwarding experience and a good understanding of the necessary processes and documents.


What you will be doing:
  1. Arrange, book and monitor shipments on land, air and sea keeping company KPI's in mind.
  2. Handle all processes and documentation including customs entries.
  3. Operate with the companies QA system.
  4. Liaising with all departments and build working relationships with clients, shipping agents, airlines etc making sure relationships are built upon.
  5. Track the journey of goods and provide feedback to the client of timings, locations, pricing, quotations etc.
  6. Make sure that clients have their goods by the allotted deadline set.
  7. Processing and raising invoices.
Skills and experience
  1. Minimum 3 years previous freight forwarding experience within a similar environment.
  2. Deep knowledge of financial KPI's and business.
  3. Customer service driven and a team player.
  4. Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other freight software experience.
  5. Flexible in your approach to shift work including weekends (if needed).

Your hours of work would be 40 hours per week, maybe including weekends.
