We are currently seeking an interim Formulation Scientist, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 5 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying between £29,719 - £35,871 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
The global hair format team is looking for a formulation scientist to help deliver our innovative hair products that will delight the consumer. Our team has the advantage of being part of the new product delivery from the beginning to the end. Working across various brands and a diverse product range such as shampoo, conditioners, leave-on creams and aerosol formulations, this role will involve formulation development and quality assessment to create the final product.
Key Accountabilities
Making hair formulations: shampoo and rinse-off conditioners.
Performing product quality check analysis as well as product performance measurements.
Conducting product qualification studies, including product stability, product compatibility, corrosion.
Collates, analyses, and communicates data and insights.
Delivers written reports and oral communications within the team.
Supporting the delivery of hair innovation projects by testing products, generating, and analysing data, reporting back to the team.
Key Requirements
BSc or MSc in a scientific discipline, preferably in a subject linked to formulation.
Lab experience, preferably in formulation or quality control. Experience with shampoo and conditioner would be ideal.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, hardworking, loyal, and committed.
Technical skills with technical curiosity. Must be able to interpret and analyse data using digital systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
