Forklift Driver

We are looking for an experienced forklift driver to join our yard team working on a 6 month fixed term contract operating on a Panama shift pattern:

6.30am - 7.00pm with shift pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on & 3 days off.

The Position

1. Follow all procedures relating to safe operation of forklift trucks
2. Ensure forklift maintenance is carried out i.e. cleaning the forklift, water, oil, diesel, and tyre pressure
3. Bins, pallets, and trays must be stacked neatly, in the correct place and to the correct height
4. Always operate your forklift truck in a safe manner, checking loads are secure and being aware of people and avoiding damage to buildings and machinery
5. Report any accidents etc. to your immediate supervisor as soon as possible after the incident occurs
6. Ensure your immediate work area is kept clean, tidy, and safe
7. Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date and is completed fully and accurately i.e. forklift check sheet, loading plans, rejects and hopper sheet.

The perfect candidate

1. Counterbalance forklift licence essential
2. Good sense of balance
3. Good eye-hand-foot coordination
4. Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
5. Willingness to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
