Job description

As a Consultant, you’ll know what it means to lead a team. To always strive for better. This is a great opportunity to join an established medical team at Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood, Surrey and make a real difference to men who have enduring mental health problems.

Farmfield Hospital is made up of a 51-bed secure unit with both medium secure wards and low secure wards for male service users as well as one 15 bed male non-secure acute ward (Brockham). We are also in the process of opening a 12 bedded male medium secure ward.

As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will take on RC responsibility for up to 15 male service users on our medium and low secure wards. You will have the support of a non-consultant grade doctor as well as secretarial support.

Working with an established multi-professional team, you will deliver individualised care and have access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
  • Medication management
  • Quality assurance, complaints and co-production
  • Delivery of NICE guidance
  • Lead and manage the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standards
