This is a temporary role as a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist at the Spinney Hospital in Greater Manchester, which is part of Elysium Healthcare. The hospital offers comprehensive services for forensic patients covering the care pathway from medium to low secure and locked rehabilitation. The Spinney hospital has been ranked as "Outstanding" by the CQC on two consecutive inspections in 2016 and 2018, and was rated "Good" in 2022.
You will be responsible for the care of 20 medium secure forensic inpatients, supported by a specialty doctor. You will have access to a half day of CPD on Friday afternoons, opportunities for research and audit, and will work with a multi-disciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include taking overall responsibility for patient treatment plans, assessing referrals, undertaking investigations and treatment, leading the implementation of risk assessment and risk management, and liaising with external agencies.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join the team at the Spinney Hospital; Greater Manchester, to deliver high-quality clinical service in our 97 bedded all-male unit. The hospital offers comprehensive services for forensic inpatients covering the care pathway from medium to low secure and locked rehabilitation. One of the wards has learning disability low secure patients and one is a 10 bedded PICU.
You will be one of five consultants at the Spinney. The holder of this post will be responsible for the care of 20 medium secure forensic inpatients. You will be supported by a specialty doctor.
