Job description

Site Foreman required for ongoing Scottish Water framework between Glasgow and Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Co-ordinating and managing all subcontractors, trades, and labour on site.
  2. Ensuring all subcontractors, trades and labour have adequate resources to complete works according to a tight schedule.
  3. Promote a safety work culture.
  4. Responsibility and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction.
  5. Communication and ensuring compliance with the Company QHSE policies and procedures.
  6. Facilitate mandatory safety toolbox talk meetings.
  7. Participation in safety/incident investigations.
  8. Ensuring that plant and equipment checks are carried out on site.
  9. Communication of the particular job to and with the crews involved.
  10. Assigning crew tasks and resolving issues between crew members.
  11. Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioural expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
  12. Apply the principles of workplace respect on site.
  13. Liaising with local authorities to ensure all services are implemented on the site.
  14. Periodically reassessing daily goals to meet forecasted production.
  15. Overseeing the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the crew works to job specifications and follows the plans.
  16. Inspecting and measuring completed work.
  17. Maintaining site foreman's log & site reports.
  18. Supervising & scheduling material testing and specialist site testing.
  19. Reporting on work progress.
  20. Establish and promote best quality practice.
  21. Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation.

Selection Criteria / Person Specification:
  1. Min. 10 years site-based experience.
  2. Full UK driver's license held.
  3. Extensive site experience of potable water mains and service installations / civils works / sewer installation / rising main installation works.
  4. Experience of "no-dig" techniques, eg; impact Moling, directional drilling techniques, desired, but not essential.
  5. Valid Safe Pass and/or CSCS card holder.
  6. DOMS and National Water Hygiene card holder.
  7. SMSTS or SSSTS card holder.
  8. 3-day first aid at work certificate holder.
  9. Experienced in working in a fast paced and pressured environment adhering to strict deadlines and budgets.
  10. Will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  11. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
