Job description

IKEA Cardiff are looking to welcome Food Production Operatives to join our amazing team.


These contracts are full-time and will require working 39 hours a week.


As a Food Production Operative, you will support in producing our meals in our busy customer restaurant - including our meatballs and hot dishes! If you thrive in a fast-paced and team-focused environment, this role will allow you to experience and co-create the wonderful every day.


WHAT WE OFFER
  1. Start date of employment will be 11 May.
  2. Hourly rate of £12.60 per hour.
  3. This is a permanent contract working 39 hours a week, which will include alternate weekends (1 on, 1 off).
  4. Earliest shift start times would be 07:15am and latest shift finishing times would be 20:30pm.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

We are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality, sustainable food.

This is an extremely fast-paced working environment and requires you to multitask, producing and serving food with regular heavy lifting. Leading self, managing your own workload, and working to a strict timeline.

Previous experience in food is essential, for instance, within a busy café or within a catering role.

For this role, you will be required to be 18 years old or over.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
  1. You will be preparing and making meals using our ovens and kitchen equipment to offer a taste of Sweden to our customers and co-workers.
  2. The kitchen is a safety-first, fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail for all things safety as well as efficient multi-tasking to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work, and have fun.
  3. Preparing for the next day's trade, as well as managing waste and working in a sustainable and cost-conscious way.
  4. Following a cleaning schedule and making sure the cleanliness of the kitchen is to a high standard.
