Food Editor - Online Content (12 Month FTC)

Summary
As a Food Editor - Online and CRM for the Food Business at M&S, we are looking for a dynamic and talented content editor and food expert with online content, recipe and CRM expertise to play an important role in delivering best-in-class editorial content and campaigns across online, email, direct mail, and app, to support the marketing function of M&S Food.

You'll be able to balance brilliant creative ideas with excellent copywriting skills, while ensuring all the content you produce represents the M&S Food brand.

This is a 12 Month FTC.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Planning and leading on the execution (across team) of food editorial content positioning and planning (in line with broader Food Marketing planning processes).
  • Managing and oversight of online and catalogue copywriting content teams. Leading on editorial food content, from calendar planning and story research to feature writing, shoot coordination and commissioning.
  • Recipe writing, development and testing, and contributing original ideas, demonstrating in-depth food knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Briefing photography shoot teams for recipe and editorial food content. Attending editorial and recipe shoots as required, ensuring the shoot runs smoothly and that the images reflect the M&S Food brand.
  • Online content feature writing, with the ability to write editorial-style food features, interviews, compelling campaign pages and punchy marketing pages, while maintaining a distinct M&S tone of voice and ensuring the content is never generic.
  • CRM copywriting as required, ensuring emails have a clear editorial structure and reflect our tone of voice. Feeding back on copywriting for other team members and coaching junior team members to ensure their writing is best in class.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Highly creative with a good eye for detail and a passion for marketing and editorial content.
  • Excellent copywriting, editorial and subbing skills.
  • In-depth food and recipe knowledge.
  • Stakeholder management and strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to problem-solve and recommend solutions.
