- Carry out Flick testing, which is an emergency lighting test also referred to as a 'flash' test. This involves temporarily switching off the building's power and checking whether emergency light fittings (luminaires) remain illuminated. If the luminaires don't turn on or provide sufficient light, they need to be repaired or replaced.
- Conduct duration tests to ensure that the batteries for emergency lights are fully drained, testing if emergency lighting would work in the event of an emergency, such as a fire or power cut. This is also known as a discharge test and can help identify issues with drainage, battery life, or damaged lighting elements that need replacement.
- Travel around a particular region as part of the job.
You will require a Level 3 electrical installation, 18th Edition certification, and a valid driving licence.
