Flexi-Cover Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools - Caterham area

Protocol Education are working with schools throughout Croydon to appoint committed, flexible Teaching Assistants to become a vital part of our support team. This role will suit someone who is looking to gain experience within different education settings and with children of different ages on a schedule that fits around them. You will have your own online diary which you will update so that we can get you work on any days you want it.

The Role:

1. As a flexi-cover teaching assistant you will work across schools and year groups as and when needed. Either covering/supporting due to staff absence, extra staff needed or intervention support.
2. To support and manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced.
3. De-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered.
4. Working 1:1 as in-class support/working in small groups and 1:1 within SEND children for short periods of time where required.
5. Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school’s referral procedures and safeguarding policies.

4. Excellent communication skills; Verbal/written and reading comprehension.
