Job description

Job Description:

The Fleet Mechanic / Oil and Lube Technician will repair the company fleet to meet DOT standards and to be dependable on public highways. You will inspect all fleet equipment for compliance and functionality, ensuring that all moving parts are well-greased, helping troubleshoot issues, and participating in repairs. Passionate about safety and take pride in keeping our complex machinery running efficiently!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Perform inspections of vehicles.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs by troubleshooting and then repairing to specification.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment, including but not limited to cutting, welding, changing tires, and replacing lights.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain records of repairs and enter them into our work order system for tracking.
  • Observe company policy, procedures, and all safety rules.
  • Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant mechanical experience or vocational training.
  • Possess strong mechanical abilities relative to fleet.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, cutting, and welding.
  • High competence on all truck/trailer systems.
  • CDL license not required, but preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stooping, bending, and squatting.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights up to 20 feet using all proper PPE.
  • Climb stairs frequently.
  • Lift weight up to 50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typical truck shop environment, noise level can be high, indoor/outdoor environment. Must be willing to work all shifts including overtime and weekends as needed.
