The role

As a Fleet Engineering Delivery Manager, you’ll lead, develop and direct a team of engineering line leaders, engineering specialists, and industrial workers to achieve project objectives while maintaining operational performance within the required constraints of safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

This will cover various engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Combat Systems, Fabrication, and Welding. You will provide a clear interface between the execution of work by the Fleet Engineering team, the wider Fleet Operations Directorate, and the Customer.

• Ensure the highest standards of health and safety in your area of responsibility, ensuring cooperation with required standards set by the business.
• Manage engineering output to ensure technical solutions align with the agreed technical scope, applying expertise to achieve quality standards across projects.
• Promote effective cooperation across engineering and functional teams, managing demand profiles for resources and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
• Cultivate and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication and management.
• Support the development of Engineering capability to meet future program demands.
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and promote a culture of engineering excellence.

Essential experience of the Fleet Engineering Delivery:

• Experience managing multi-disciplined engineering teams on large scale, complex projects in a high regulatory environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of safety management within high-risk environments, ensuring compliance with company and statutory standards.
• Leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience with the ability to influence stakeholders for a positive safety culture.
• Ability to assess complex engineering work packages and deliver in line with KPIs.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with stakeholders.
• HR management experience, including capability, absence management, and application of HR policies.

This role is full time, 37 hours, 4.5 days a week, based at HMNB Clyde.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
