An excellent opportunity for an Experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established company.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Salary: £30,000 Per Annum, Negotiable Depending on Experience.

Location: Manchester, North West.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, plus on call, plus overtime.

About The Company: Established in 1995, they have been providing a full range of security systems for over 25 years. The vast majority of their business comes from referrals from their long-standing customer base. Whilst many security companies have adopted a model of fit and forget, they only provide systems with ongoing maintenance.

Their customers are secure in the knowledge that should they require assistance, their friendly experienced staff can be contacted quickly by email or telephone 24 hours a day. This opportunity would be ideally suited to an Engineer who lives within a commutable distance of North Manchester.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Include:
  1. Carry out Installation, Corrective and Preventative Maintenance on Intruder alarms, fire alarms, access control, CCTV, Lockdown and other associated electronic fire, safety and security systems in accordance with relevant company procedures, engineer instructions and specific system requirements.
  2. Provide front line customer assistance as part of the companies on call rota.
  3. Design and develop fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  4. Create detailed schematics and layouts using CAD software for fire safety installations.
  5. Conduct site assessments to determine the appropriate fire protection measures required for each project.
  6. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate fire safety systems into overall project designs.
  7. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to assemble, install, and maintain fire protection equipment.
  8. Perform regular inspections and testing of installed systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  9. Provide technical support and guidance during installation processes, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  10. Maintain accurate documentation of designs, installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in system design related to fire safety or similar fields.
  2. Strong electrical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software for creating detailed designs and layouts.
  4. Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction or engineering settings.
  5. Excellent mechanical knowledge related to building systems and equipment.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  8. Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related field are desirable but not essential.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge:
  1. Good basic education and ideally a relevant qualification in the electrical/electronic industry.
  2. Full UK Driving Licence.
  3. Sound technical knowledge in the following disciplines: Intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control and the applicable standards for these systems.
  4. Field Service Experience.
  5. Experience in IT & Networking.
  6. Electrical experience.
What does a typical day look like?
  1. Installation of CCTV Systems, Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms and Access Control and other associated electronic fire, safety and security systems.
  2. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure proper functionality.
  3. Strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
  4. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  5. Compliance at all times with Company Policy & Health and Safety legislation.
