We’re hiring a Financial Planning and Analysis Director, a senior-level executive responsible for leading and directing the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis activities within Nuffield Health. This leadership role is crucial in guiding strategic decision-making and ensuring financial performance aligns with the business’ goals.

As Finance Planning and Analysis Director, you’ll work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other members of the C-Suite, driving strategic and commercial finance initiatives to shape and support our ambitious growth plans.

You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering the financial plan to the Board and stakeholders, supplying financial information for investors, leading the FP&A function, and delivering insightful financial analysis that supports key business decisions.

Key responsibilities of our Financial Planning and Analysis Director:

• Leading the development and delivery of the business’ annual budget, monthly financial performance management information, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Collaborating with directors across the business including senior leadership and department heads to ensure alignment of financial goals with business strategies.
• Providing regular insights into future financial performance and suggesting adjustments to meet targets.
• Analysing financial results, comparing actual performance to budgets and forecasts, and providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability.
• Presenting financial results and strategic plans to senior management, investors, and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
• Identifying trends, variances, and potential risks that could impact the business’ financial health and providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Working closely with business units to drive operational efficiencies and cost control measures, with a mindset of continuous business improvement.
• Monitoring and managing the business’ cash flow, leading the cash flow forecast and working closely with the treasury team.
• Managing and mentoring a team of financial analysts and planners with a range of experience, ensuring their development and alignment with business objectives.
• Promoting a culture of continuous personal development and supporting team members with training and growth opportunities.

To be successful as Financial Planning and Analysis Director you will have:

• Experience: 10 years of experience in financial forecasting, financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• ACA or equivalent accountancy qualification, MBA is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and presentation skills to Board level.
• Proven track record of driving and delivering financial improvement within a complex multi-sited organisation.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.
• Familiarity with large healthcare and/or consumer businesses will be an advantage.
