Location: Derby, UK

Description

Due to substantial organic and planned growth in the firm, we are currently recruiting for a FP&A Business Partner to support the business with highly sensitive projects and carefully planned strategies to accelerate the firm's growth mission.

The FP&A Business Partner will be working closely with the Head of Departments and will also be involved with various department and firmwide financial projects including modelling for potential acquisitions.

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure the strictest levels of confidentiality are always maintained.

This role reports directly to Qamer Ghafoor, CEO, & Wai Yan Fung, CFO for Flint Bishop.

The role is full-time and permanent based in our Derby Head Office.

Monday to Friday 9.15 to 17.30 with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis
  1. Preparing monthly financial reports for HODs, including performance dashboards and key performance indicators to assess Department and individual performances.
  2. Developing and implementing financial strategies to achieve business objectives.
  3. Working closely with other Support Departments to gather data and provide financial support.
  4. Communicating financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  5. Preparing and managing budgets, including capital expenditure and operating budgets.
  6. Conducting variance analysis between actual and budgeted performance, and recommending areas for improvements.
  7. Analysing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within each Department.
  8. Providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  9. Developing and maintaining financial models to forecast future performance.
  10. Creating and managing budgets for different departments or business units.
Financial Modelling on Acquisitions
  1. Evaluating new projects and potential acquisition targets and conducting in-depth due diligence on potential targets, including financial, operational, and legal aspects.
  2. Building financial models to assess the value of potential acquisitions, including discounted cash flow analysis and comparable company analysis.
  3. Preparing reports and presentations for senior management and clients, summarizing findings and recommendations.
  4. Assisting with the integration of acquired companies, including financial integration, systems integration, and cultural integration.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

You will:

  1. Have an Accounting qualification – ACA / ACCA.
  2. Have strong communication and relationship building skills.
  3. Be highly self-motivated and flexible in their approach to work, and comfortable meeting tight deadlines.
  4. Have the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner, highlighting key risks and assumptions.
  5. Have experience of reviewing, analysing and correcting financial data presented.
  6. Have strong Excel skills, able to create and adapt working templates for creation and presentation of financial data.
  7. Possess sound IT skills and be able to adapt to new IT systems very quickly.
